More than 3 in 5 consumers said environmental impact and sustainability are important factors when making purchasing decisions, so it comes as no surprise that consumers’ engagement in these issues has led to a heightened interest in second-hand.

Depop, enter stage left. This fashion marketplace app has garnered a global community that buys, sells and connects to make fashion more inclusive, diverse and less wasteful, with the mission of transforming what the fashion world looks like today. As the ‘buy better and buy well’ ethos becomes cemented in consumer’s shopping habits, thanks to a renewed focus on sustainability, we have seen this second-hand stop shop rise in popularity. Because of this, creators have flooded to this platform to join this fashion-loving community and their independent successes have been huge.

We’re going to be taking a look at 5 creators who have made their mark on this ever-growing platform.

Top 5 Creators

@tamaraaaxo -

Tamaraaaxo sells vintage, pre-loved and new pieces all under one ‘digital’ roof. What’s better, is that she sends her pieces to her small yet engaged audience in eco-friendly packaging - not only is she celebrating a love for second hand, she is also considering the wider environmental impact around her, so it comes as no surprise that she is one of the hottest Depop creators around.

@lizzyhadfield -

A familiar face in the influencer space, Lizzy Hadfield sells her pre-loved clothes and accessories to her well-established audience. What makes this even better, is that Lizzy gives 20% of her proceeds to charities, and this is a great example of ‘fashion for good’.

@Susamusa -

Susa Musa has one commitment - to help keep clothes in circulation. This creator boasts an awesome range of vintage pieces and Deadstock clothing, and because of this, she has curated a community of over 100,000 followers. Susa Musa now sells vintage pieces on an independent website, and this shows that Depop is a great space to kick start an enterprise journey.

@fruitsaladstore -

Named as the official store for ‘sassy girls and sassy garms’, fruitsaladstore produces the most beautiful made-to-order pieces. This shows a true commitment to reducing waste within the fashion cycle, and for that, we say thank you.

@chiaraferrangi -

The Blonde Salad? It must ring a bell. The OG influencer that is Chiara Ferragni has opened her wardrobe doors and is selling her pieces to her fans. This proves that Depop is a space for micro, macro and hero creators, all who have joined the platform to champion the same mission - to encourage people around the world to buy more sustainably.

There are many more Depop content creators who are hugely successful on this platform, and we expect to see a rise of even more creators moving over to this second-hand stop shop. Not only this, as social shopping emerges outside of mainstream social networks, we believe Depop will open up as the next space for marketers and advertisers to activate their influencer marketing campaigns - so, all that’s left to say is...watch this space!
