Influencer has today announced the appointment of Jason Surroop as commercial director. This comes just months after Surroop joined the company as group head of the WPP patch. Surroop’s appointment indicates proven success, especially during an uncertain time for companies across all industries.

Surroop brings a wealth of experience to the role. Prior to joining Influencer as group head of the WPP business, Surroop undertook roles at Innovid, MediaCom, and Starcom MediaVest Group in both director of agency relations and marketplace manager roles. Past roles have seen Surroop help brands and agencies execute effective video advertising through data-driven, personalised video, and offer in-depth strategic consultation on digital and video activity. Surroop also has huge experience in high volume growth, which will prove invaluable as Influencer continues the process of global expansion.

Working closely with Influencer CEO Ben Jeffries, Surroop will play an instrumental role in driving commercial growth. Influencer has been extremely vocal about their commitment to price transparency and guarantees on performance for clients. Surroop will be responsible for leading all commercial operations, namely building partnerships with senior stakeholders in agencies and brands and building out a succinct commercial strategy, during a critical phase of growth.

‍Commenting on Surroop’s appointment CEO Ben Jeffries said, “We’re incredibly proud to announce the appointment of Jason Surroop as Influencer’s commercial director. At Influencer, our people come first and we are constantly striving to assist them in developing their skills. Jason joined the Influencer team at a challenging time for many businesses and proved himself time and time again. His past experience coupled with his proven skill made him the perfect candidate to continue driving Influencer to be a category leader in one of the fastest emerging industries in the sector; the influencer marketing space. I’m incredibly excited to see what he will achieve in this role.”

VP of Product Rafael Franco also added: “Jason embodies every single one of Influencer’s values; he brings everything to the work he does and is extremely passionate about achieving the goals of our clients; he has already played a huge part in propelling Influencer along the strong growth trajectory we’re currently on. The Influencer product is at the heart of our business and I’m really excited to work closely with him to take it to the next level.”

Influencer’s technology was launched in 2017 by award-winning entrepreneurs, 24-year-old Ben Jeffries who leads the company as CEO, and 26-year-old world-renowned YouTuber and creator Caspar Lee, as chief visionary officer (CVO). Backed by some of the world’s largest creators, Influencer is already working with many leading global brands including Alibaba, PepsiCo, Ocado, Procter & Gamble, Starbucks, Pernod Ricard and Barclays, to name a few.
